Service and/or Process Applicability

Many NDT related solutions require periodic verification to be within specified ranges of performance. Such testing generally falls under the term analytical laboratory analysis.

Common items checked in an NDT environment include verification of fluorescent penetrant (FPI) and magnetic particle (MPI) solutions.

FPI solutions are checked for water content to ASTM D95. FPI solutions are also checked for sensitivity, removability, brightness, contamination, and separation.

MPI solutions are checked for viscosity to ASTM D445.
