When a part can't be shipped to a laboratory for NDT, the NDT must instead go to the part. There are also cases where it is best to bring the NDT capability to the point of manufacture or overhaul regardless of the size of the part in question. All of these cases are commonly referred to as field inspections.

Examples of field service inspections include such items as inspecting welds on piping, corrosion on an aircraft, etc. 
  

Many of the NDT methods performed on a daily basis within Metals Testing Company's laboratory facility can also be applied in the field or at a customer's facility. We currently offer FPI, MPI, UT, and replication field inspection services. Note, however, as we continue to grow we will be expanding our field service capability.
